Morningside Baptist Church was born from a humble beginning in 1953 when a small group began holding services at Kyle and Frances Swann’s grocery store, the present site of the Ingles store. After meeting at the Swann store for 3 years, Morningside Missionary Baptist Church was organized, with 8 chapter members.
1958 - The property on Chestnut Avenue was purchased and construction on the auditorium began.
1960 - The building was completed and services began at the new location.
1986 - Phase I of 'Victory Thru Vision' began, adding a fellowship hall and expanding the auditorium to hold up to 450 members.
2011 - Phase II was completed - bringing a 7,500 sq ft education building to the property, now home to many of our Sunday School groups.
2019 - The current sanctuary was completed as part of Phase III which added 200 seats among other upgrades, allowing us to seat 700.
